History Made As Great Benin Descendants Comes Together 1st Of March 2017

July 1st history was made, it was a raining day probably Gods divine assurance for good days of "Great Benin Kingdom's". First we set out to visit high priest Ebohon in which we discussed with him of our ideas and he promised to give his 100% support and prayed and blessed us and also assured us that the ancestors of the land are truly with us. One of our brothers confided In me that the greatest emigration from Benin occurs during Oba Ewuare I era, now that he has returned the greatest immigration is about to take place. We started the meeting at about 3:05pm where different issues where raised, the key issues are as follows.

1). We must take our stand concerning the present socio-political rancor in Nigeria and that advocacy for our country should commence in earnest, reason being that Nigeria is the offshoot country from their parent country, Great Benin country. With the clause that we are not breaking out but should incase Nigeria don't survive that our nation will be called "GREAT BENIN KINGDOM'S" which encompasses all who wishes to join us. We will explain what we met by Great Benin Kingdom's in the coming days.

2). Massive orientation should be done because Benin people(all ethnic nationality that are from Great Benin) still do not know who they are.

3). Three standing committees where created. 
a) Contact, consultation and fund raising committee- headed by Imasuen Amowie Marvis
b) Intelligent report/writings committee - headed by Mr. Nosa Ehanire Osaghae. The committee will liaise with institute for Benin studies( for proper academic and vetted works)
c) Security committee-headed by Osazee Amas in collaboration with Edo N'Ibaromi.

4). Another committee was created to strategize in organizing a rally for the celebration of the restoration of Great Benin monarch which was restored 14th of July, 1914. So on the 14th of July this month we will all match out in groups and as brothers to celebrate 103years of the restoration of our monarch. 

5). We agreed that we will be meeting once in a month and our next meeting will be 29th of July, 2017.

6). We agreed to set up chapters of this movement in various States who are willing to identify with us, with the presence of our brothers from River state and their agreement as well. River state (Ekpeye, Ogba and Iwurhuonha) will have the first State chapter.

7). The group shall be called " GREAT BENIN KINGDOM'S MOVEMENT" (GBK'sM) and other Edo groups who wishes to be part of this should all come under this big umbrella.

N.B: There are no executives yet just interim.

At this point I want to thank Geneeral Akenuwa, Nosa Ekpenede Idubor, Amon Ra, Samuel Osariemen Erhinmwiorose, Aiko Obobaifo, Otedo Okporhu, and Osahon Omorodion for their financial support and with the assurances that they won't regret with that sacrifice given for the inaugural meeting that has now culminated into a movement and also to plead with them that there are more to be done by them because the journey just began.

I want to thank 30 of us who made the inaugural meeting most especially those who traveled to be here with us in persons of Kenneth Orgwu, Emeka Ihruoha, Osakue cypher, Omoregie Osakpolor and lots more.
