The Unbalance Relationship: Yoruba and Edos

By Mike Anders

Every part of Nigeria the cry of marginalisation is getting louder, I think the most marginalized people in Nigeria today are the Edo people even from their own brothers the Yorubas.
Edo people accept everything from the Yoruba in the name of brother and friend relationship, this only made the relationship one sided. Every political party formed in Yoruba land, this is ironically accepted wholeheartedly by the Edo people, whether it is the new Yoruba gods or deities, songs or dancing they are all welcome by Edo people.

Edo people have helped their old brother to build Lagos and other Yoruba cities but nothing comes to Edo cities in return, there is no single investment of Yoruba person in Edo land (none that I know anyway)

Edo people overwhelmingly voted for Awolowo during his days as a presidential candidate, the same support was given to Obasanjo. Ask Obasanjo how his reciprocate this gesture to the people of Edo state?

During the Midwesterner state the relationship was exactly the same, we always help the Yoruba in need then help yourself in need.

Our other brothers like Itsekiri, Isoko, Ijaw and Urhobo have similar complaints against the Yoruba.
I am not expecting any Yoruba person to say anything here except they have anything to counter my argument which I know they don't have, they do better live with their conscience of guilt. We are not happy as brothers, you have made yourself our strongest instrument of marginalisation.
You are seeing the suffering of Edo people, but you are less concerned because you are satisfied. We have completely been marginalized in a troubled country called Nigeria.
